Angular developer

arbnco is looking for an experienced software developer to expand our engineering team developing disruptive proprietary technology solutions that are changing the commercial real-estate industry. In this position you will be part of a team developing cloud-based building simulation systems focused on energy and carbon reduction.

The position is based in Glasgow and offers a flexible working environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed specifications for enhancements to existing products.
• Verify and validate issues in the products reported by customers and internal users. Propose, implement and validate solutions to these issues.
• Implement and validate new features per the specifications.
• Collaborate with the entire development team to shape product and technology direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
• Minimum three years of experience developing commercial, cloud based, solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Expertise with the following technologies:

              o Angular (v6 or more recent, ideally)

              o NPM package management

              o SASS/SCSS css generators

Experience with the following technologies is not necessary but is a plus:

              o PostgreSQL / MongoDB

              o AngularJS (v1.x)

              o Ruby on Rails

              o Highcharts

              o NativeScript

Ruby on Rails developer

Project Coordinator

arbnco is looking for a Project Coordinator to join our arbn labs team, a young and fast-growing group of Building Scientists, Engineers and Software Developers. The labs team is responsible for all technical aspects of the arbnco products and services, including product conception, definition and specification, software development to bring the products to life, executing grant funded R&D projects, and supporting the sales and marketing teams to ensure customer success and delight. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Technology Officer and provide assistance to the CTO and the CTO’s staff in achieving objectives. With a background in Project Support or Administration, this role would suit a confident and adaptable individual who is experienced in working in a fast-paced environment. A strong communicator, with excellent organisation skills, you will be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders including project partners and funders.

The position is based in Glasgow and offers a flexible working environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the CTO with scheduling and communication.

• Provide dedicated project support to the R&D Manager and wider member of his project team including:

             o Funded R&D project monitoring, project finance, arranging meetings and events, communication between partners, ensuring timesheets are                               completed, preparation of project documentation, task and deliverables tracking.

             o Monitor financial expenditure of funded R&D projects including: monitoring of the allocated project budget tracking spend against budget, allocating                 costs, obtaining supporting documentation, recording staff time spent on the project and producing financial reports.

             o Support for the development of new R&D proposals including developing project plans,
             coordinating meetings between partners, calculating project costs and developing timelines.

• Provide logistics support for hardware components used in arbnco’s product line including:

             o monitoring of stock levels.

             o gathering hardware requirements from the sales teams.

             o planning, executing and monitoring hardware purchases.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree preferably in a science or engineering subject or equivalent relevant experience.
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office suite.
• Project Coordination experience preferably in an R&D environment.
• Enthusiasm and ability to schedule own workload and plan tasks effectively
• Motivation to work as part of a team
• Willingness to be flexible and accept new challenges

Building Performance Engineer

 arbnco is looking for a Building Performance Engineer to join our Energy Product team, a young and fast-growing group of Building Scientists and Engineers. The Energy Product team is responsible for all functional aspects of arbnco energy product lines, defining the product roadmap and specific capabilities, and works with software development team to implement the products, and the sales and marketing teams to ensure customer success and delight. The successful candidate will assist with the design, optimization, and validation of complex sub-systems related to our energy products.

The position is based in Glasgow and offers a flexible working environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter and domain expert for a wide variety of technical aspects of our Energy Products
• Help to determine requirements for the future products/versions based on business and market needs
• Produce specifications and determine feasibility
• Integrate subsystems into a fully functional software system
• Verify and validate issues in the products reported by customers and internal users
• Propose, implement and validate solutions to these issues
• Collaborate with the entire product development team to shape product and technology direction.

Requirements

• Masters Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Building engineering with building energy performance assessment experience

• Experience with:

            o Science of building energy usage, building retrofit analysis and cost calculations

            o Software development projects

            o Software development methodology, piloting, and release processes

            o Establishing products route to market strategies

            o Communicating results of research and development to colleagues

            o Test- and customer-driven development

            o Software engineering tools

• Strong problem-solving skills
