arbnco working with Catapult to build a digital platform for SMEs

We have been awarded phase one funding for the Government innovation competition Boosting Access for SMEs to Energy Efficiency (BASEE).

As the only Scottish company to receive the funding, we will be developing a Digital Energy Efficiency Platform (DEEP) to improve energy efficiency across the 5.7 million small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the UK.

SMEs account for 99% of businesses in the UK and are responsible for over 50% of energy use. DEEP is aiming to eliminate the common barriers they face in tackling energy efficiency, such as high upfront and transactional costs, economies of scale and difficulties accessing finance.

Part of the project will include a research survey looking to:

• Understand how a range of SMEs are managing their energy requirements

• Determine if they have implemented any efficiency measures and how they financed them.

• Get reactions to a business proposition

For SMEs participating in the survey, all submissions will be placed into a draw for a free energy report on their premises from either our arbn insight or consult platform depending on status.
