The UK government has issued a call for evidence for Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and are seeking evidence on how they perform against the following three attributes:
- Encouraging action to improve energy efficiency
The call for evidence includes suggestions for improvement, with additional ideas welcome. They would particularly like to hear from building owners and occupiers of both domestic and non-domestic properties, estate agents and those involved with the sale or lease of buildings and all those involved in the energy efficiency products supply chain, e.g. EPC assessors, accreditation bodies, software providers and enforcement bodies.
If you would like to take part in the call for evidence, you have until 11:45pm on 19th October 2018.
Energy and Clean Growth Minister Claire Perry said: “EPCs are already giving people the information they need on the energy performance of buildings, allowing consumers to make informed purchase and rental decisions and providing building owners with recommendations for improving their properties.”
