Professor Joe Clarke

Advisor

Joe is the Director of the Energy Systems Research Unit (ESRU) and BRE Centre of Excellence in Energy Utilisation at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. His research is focused on the role that energy systems simulation can play in helping to reduce energy demand, accelerate the take-up of renewable energy technologies, mitigate environmental impacts and improve human well-being. A major element of his research involves the development and dissemination of software tools for energy systems simulation, and the application of these in design, research and policy contexts.

Paul McNamara OBE

Advisor-Shareholder

Paul is a consultant to arbnco advising on the sustainability-related interests of commercial real estate investors. Paul was Head of Research for Prudential plc’s real estate investment arm for over 20 years before becoming a consultant in 2012. With degrees in geography from the Universities of St. Andrews and Edinburgh, Paul has chaired the Property Working Groups of UNEPFI[1] and IIGCC[2] where he promoted responsible property investment practices. He is an Honorary Fellow and past Chairman of both the IPF[3] and SPR[4] and a Visiting Professor at Oxford Brookes University.

Nigel Ellis

Advisor

Nigel is a graduate mechanical and electrical engineer with 34 years in the energy industry with North of Scotland Hydro Electric Board (SSE). Nigel’s career included conventional engineering roles through senior project and commercial development positions, energy trading and ultimately new technology investment and corporate venturing as the Technology Development Manager of SSE Venture Capital Limited.

Through privatisation, M&A, business separation and innumerable market reforms and energy trading mechanisms, it is fair to say Nigel’s career can be characterised by the need to adapt to change in technical, economic and political factors.

More recently, the environmental, security and affordability issues faced by the energy sector (the Trilemma) has highlighted the need to encourage the development of more disruptive technologies and new business models to address the new to provide new sustainable energy solutions.

Maureen Eisbrenner

Co-Founder CEO & Chairman

As CEO & Chairman, Maureen Eisbrenner is responsible for the implementation of arbnco’s strategic plan to advance the company’s vision, mission, strategies and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability for its shareholders and growth as an organization . Under her leadership, arbnco is building a strong team to deliver SAAS products to real estate investors, managers and consultants to make quicker and better informed decisions.

Maureen is a seasoned executive with more than twenty years of experience helping companies and their clients to achieve results. Prior to founding arbnco, she CO-Founded Cadmeleon LTD-which provided technology-based solutions to the public and private sectors including commercial real estate, healthcare and financial services companies. Maureen led the successful acquisition of the scanning division of Cadmeleon LTD to a multinational firm in 2014. The engineering and technology divisions were spun-off into CO2 Estates and rebranded in 2017 as arbnco.

Maureen balances arbnco’s focus between managing today’s challenges and setting our strategic outlook for tomorrow, all while keeping our clients at the center of every decision we make.

Simon West

Co-founder & Director

Simon co-founded arbnco (previously CO2 Estates) in 2009, prior to that Simon has either founded or co-founded a number of businesses ranging from telecoms to the Cleantech sector. With over ten years experience in the UK commercial real estate sector latterly as the founder of energy compliance trading platform CEA Link which he led to a successful exit in 2008 Simon has forged strong relationships in the commercial real estate industry.

Simon’s key responsibility is leading arbnco on business development and sales both nationally and internationally whilst also working with the board and advisory team developing long and short term strategies for growth.

Simon co-founded arbnco (previously CO2 Estates) in 2009, prior to that Simon has either founded or co-founded a number of businesses ranging from telecoms to the Cleantech sector. Ian Warwick

Director

Ian is a successful entrepreneur and CEO with a complete set of business skills earned over more than 20 years working with and for private and public companies. He spent the last 10 years leading publicly listed (OTCBB) technology businesses in the UK and USA, focusing on business structure, capital investment, transformation and growth. Immediately prior to establishing Deepbridge Advisers Ltd and Deepbridge Capital LLP, Ian spent 5 years as Chairman and CEO of Aftersoft Group Inc. (now MAM Software Group Inc. OTCBB: MAMS), supplying Enterprise Resources Planning software solutions to the automotive aftermarket in the US, Canada and the UK. Ian successfully led the turnaround, re-capitalisation and listing of the business (OTCBB: MAMS), returning it to profit. He currently holds personal investments in a number of technology companies whose new products are in the proof of concept stage. He holds a Business Education Diploma from Newcastle Polytechnic, and a Licentiateship (LCGI) (NVQ Level 4) from the Royal Navy.

Alan is the arbnco Chief Technology Officer. In this role, he oversees all the technical aspects of the company including Product Development. He has worked for more than thirty-five years in the computer aided modeling and simulation area in support, marketing, sales, and product development roles and has extensive experience in Asia/Pacific having lived and worked in the region for more than ten years. He is a founder of two companies that developed low cost, easy to use mechanical simulation software. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering from Michigan State University.

Alan is the arbnco Chief Technology Officer. In this role, he oversees all the technical aspects of the company including Product Development. Andrew is a Partner in the international law firm Addleshaw Goddard LLP and is very experienced in general transactional corporate work (including acquisitions, disposals, buyouts and equity investments) and commercial contracts of a wide variety. He also has significant experience in advising on intellectual property law matters (particularly in the context of deals or commercial contracts). Andrew has a specific interest in assisting high-growth businesses, often but not exclusively in the technology and food and drink sectors. He is an experienced business mentor and Non-Executive Director and has been a key adviser to Arbnco on all corporate matters for a number of years.

Ross McKay

Finance Director

Ross leads the finance and management reporting function at arbnco, supporting the Board through the preparation of budgets and financial reports and provides advice and guidance on financial strategy for the long-term financial goals for the organization. Ross is a Scottish Chartered Accountant and Co-Principle with Johnson Smillie since 1996.

Fernando Gielow

Senior Developer (Front End)

Fernando is an enthusiast for Web technologies and tasks automation. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science, having developed research in Wireless Sensor Networks and worked with Embedded Systems for Network Cards. He always engages with side projects, usually regarding Web Applications, Hybrid Apps, and Games Development; constantly learning new tools. Initially brought to the UK in 2014 when selected by the Sirius Programme to work on an accelerated startup at Entrepreneurial Spark, he has been working with arbnco – former CO2 Estates – since late 2014, being responsible for general front-end and cloud architecture maintenance.

Fernando is an enthusiast for Web technologies and tasks automation. Stephen has spent the last decade programming CAD and building energy modelling software for non-domestic buildings looking at ways in which software can facilitate more efficient CAD and energy modelling experiences for the user. Over the past few years he has focused on improving interactions between interfacing and energy modelling applications and creating practical post-process analysis systems for MEES energy performance regulation compliance aiming to aid property owners in making the right choices when considering retrofit options.

Stephen holds a PGCert in sustainability and environmental studies and is currently studying MPhil Architecture with Strathclyde university.

Claire Das Bhaumik

Software Product Manager and KTP Supervisor

Claire is a Chartered Engineer, a CIBSE Fellow and an expert in Building Physics. She has worked for a number of leading consultancies and was previously a key member of the SBEM development team at BRE. She has extensive experience in the use of building dynamic simulation software packages for comfort, daylight and energy analysis, as well as regulations compliance.

Claire is a CIBSE Low Carbon Energy Assessor accredited to level 5 for EPC production for complex buildings and has published and contributed to a number of papers and industry publications. At arbnco Claire provides simulation and regulations expertise and supervises a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between arbnco and Strathclyde University.

Claire is a Chartered Engineer, a CIBSE Fellow and an expert in Building Physics. She has worked for a number of leading consultancies and was previously a key member of the SBEM development team at BRE. Loic Jacobs

KTP Associate (Building Energy Simulation Engineer)

Loic did his undergraduate degree in Marine Engineering at Newcastle University before moving to Glasgow to study a MSc in Sustainable Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. His MSc thesis investigated the use of genetic algorithms to calibrate building energy dynamic simulation models.

Concerns with sustainability and a keen interest in research and technology led him to apply for a research position with arbnco, partnered with Strathclyde. The resulting Knowledge Transfer Partnership will develop a platform aimed at reducing the “performance gap” between anticipated and actual energy use in buildings.

Parag Rastogi

Lead Building Physicist

Parag is a building scientist with a background in civil engineering. He comes to arbnco from a stint at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (Switzerland) as a doctoral researcher. At arbnco he leads research and development efforts to incorporate the latest building science knowledge into the simulation products. His work touches upon health and wellbeing in buildings, optimising renovation recommendations to improve energy performance scores, and integrating risk analysis into simulation predictions. Parag splits his time between arbnco and the University of Strathclyde, where he is a postdoctoral research fellow.

Saleh Seyedzadeh

Research Associate

Saleh Seyedzadeh holds BSc degree in Software Engineering and MSc with Distinction in Electrical Engineering. He is member of IEEE and Optical Society of America. He was a member of ILRG research group in University Malaya and Flexilicate Ltd. Saleh worked on Optical Communication, Sensors, Lasers and Free Space Optics and published more than 30 SCI/ISI cited papers. Saleh developed experience in Industry IT Consultancy and Website Development over past 10 years. Lately, he developed a research on Optimisation of Triple-Play services for FTTH Networks. He is currently perusing his PhD in Architecture, co-funded by University of Strathclyde and arbnco Ltd, focussing on Use of Artificial Intelligence for Optimisation of Retrofitting Plan of Commercial Buildings.

Saleh Seyedzadeh holds BSc degree in Software Engineering and MSc with Distinction in Electrical Engineering. He is member of IEEE and Optical Society of America. Dr Farzad Rahimian

Datalab Supervisor

Dr Farzad Rahimian is a Senior Lecturer in Building Information Management, with expertise in the mainstream areas of BIM, including IT Integrated Design and Construction, Virtual-Reality Programming for Automation, Simulation and Optimisation of Design, Offsite-Manufactured-Construction, and Virtual Prototyping. He has extensive experience in VR/AR programming and prototyping, and was a key player on one the first and most famous game-like VR Environments for construction simulation.

Farzad holds a PhD degree in IT Integrated Architectural Design Studies and MSc and BSc in Architectural Engineering. He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Member of Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), Member of Regulatory Room of buildingSMART International, a First Class Registered Architect in Iran and member of CIB TG74, W119, and W121. He has considerable research and practice experience in BIM and IT Integrated Construction and Design (reported in more than 85 refereed articles; Cited in more than 250 publications). Farzad has been involved in supervision of several PhD studies. He is the Co-Editor of the International Journal of Architectural Research (MIT) and has been involved in various high-level committees. During his academic career, he contributed to various publicly funded research projects, on issues regarding BIM, Deign Integration and Advanced Methods of Construction.

Principal Engineer Building Consultancy

John is the key technical advisor and advocate for arbnco products. He works closely with our sales team to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues and to assure complete customer satisfaction. The role involves monitoring contractors/assessors, carryout regular reviews and quality checks on deliverables. In addition, John liaises with clients on technical points and large quotes. John trials our newest software and suggests improvements and help to develop technical marketing material such as product videos and webinars.

John is qualified to use IES virtual environment software to level 5 and has been trained on SBEM Software by the BRE. John worked previously for NHBC, Wallace Whittle and Carrilion and has worked on Large retail warehouses such as ASDA, Schools and the athletes village and legacy apartments for London 2012.

Mitch has worked in the property industry for 35 years, having valuable experience in the public and private sectors, and in both building services design and operation. During a six year tenure as Portfolio Energy Manager for one if the world’s leading property investment companies, strategies were introduced and applied that resulted in carbon reductions of 25% across the UK managed portfolio.

Mitch’s role within arbnco is to advise clients on how to reduce their energy use, targeting the no and low cost solutions that are always available, although not necessarily always obvious and advice on energy related statutory regulations, as well as innovative technological solutions and renewable energy options.

Andrew Maw

Business Development Manager

Andrew is a Chartered Surveyor, Level 4 NDEA and OCDEA. Since qualifying in 1992 as a Chartered Surveyor, he has gained a broad range of experience across a variety of real estate market sectors including: domestic and non-domestic energy assessments for EPCs and Building Regulations Part L compliance; BREEAM assessments and consultation; dwelling condition surveys; valuations on domestic & commercial real estate; rent reviews and lease renewals, domestic and commercial property marketing and sales negotiation and portfolio management.

At arbnco, Andrew’s role is to be the technical lead for arbn consult,  arbnco’s MEES software solution platform.

Andrew is a Chartered Surveyor, Level 4 NDEA and OCDEA. Since qualifying in 1992 as a Chartered Surveyor, he has gained a broad range of experience across a variety of real estate market sectors including: domestic and non-domestic energy assessments for EPCs and Building Regulations Part L compliance; BREEAM assessments and consultation; dwelling condition surveys; valuations on domestic & commercial real estate; rent reviews and lease renewals, domestic and commercial property marketing and sales negotiation and portfolio management.

At arbnco, Andrew’s role is to be the technical lead for arbn consult,  arbnco’s MEES software solution platform.

Awace Ahmed

Marketing Executive

Awace is a graduate from the University of Strathclyde with an upper class second division degree in Marketing. He works closely with arbnco’s advertising, market research, production and sales team devising and presenting ideas and strategies. Awace has a passion for digital marketing and has experience in affiliate marketing, social media marketing, keyword research and web optimisation. In his spare time he enjoys weight training and playing a variety of sports such as football and cricket.

Sarah Maclellan

Digital Marketing Associate

As Digital Marketing Associate, Sarah is responsible for assisting in the organisation and update of marketing activities within arbnco. She works closely with the Group Marketing Manager to develop arbnco’s social media capability, content creation management and digital marketing. Sarah’s main responsibilities include supporting daily activities of the inbound marketing plan and managing all online channels. Prior to starting with arbnco, Sarah worked as Social Media Manager at Fitcial, a fitness startup, where her focus was on generating brand awareness through their social media platforms.

Karen Ramage

Head of Operations & Administration

Karen is responsible for management of all Client projects and internal Company administration. She has over 25years work experience in Project Management and Operations, 13years under the current owners throughout their businesses.

Her role involves managing the planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of each project for our clients, to deliver a smooth and efficient service.

Karen also oversees the internal administration for the company, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and managing the overall daily office operations including office management, technology, human resources, contracts and management of administrative staff.

Julie serves the role of Financial Controller and is responsible for the company’s financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and tax compliance. She is a Stirling University graduate with a BA in Accounting & Finance and has ten years’ experience in this field. Julie held similar roles in previous companies before joining our team in 2012.

Elaine Campbell

Administrator

Elaine has worked in an administrative capacity for twenty-five years, gaining valuable expertise in both the public and private sectors, she brings that wealth of experience to her role as administrator at arbnco.
She ensures that the administration role within the company is carried out diligently, is responsible for arranging travel, placing orders with suppliers and liaising with callers and colleagues. She enjoys the daily challenges that working for arbnco offers.
In her spare time, she dabbles in journalism, has a keen interest in politics, social media and enjoys meeting new people.
