Our Business Development Director, Stephen Preece, and Sales Development Manager, Peter Farrant, both attended this year’s Smart Buildings Show at the Barbican in London from the 7th November to the 8th November.
The aim of this conference was to connect visitors to the latest information and technology in the smart buildings industry and many of the topics were centred around “how can worker stress be solved by smart buildings” and “how technology evolution transforms buildings into operational assets.”
Stephen presented in the Connected – Controls theatre with his presentation focusing on the A B C of energy management in commercial property. The presentation focused on the following:
- The efficiency of the building fabric and equipment installed – how retrofit measures can be implemented to improve an EPC rating. Using real examples taken from our clients who have installed LED lighting, new HVAC equipment and insulation to improve their buildings’ lifecycle.
- How the occupiers actually use the building, and how connected devices and sensor technology are monitoring aspects of the indoor working environment in order to provide healthy workplaces.
- Onsite energy generation – how organisations can realise the benefits of deploying a range of onsite renewable energy generation technologies. How to gain the maximum benefit in both carbon and cost.
